Our Curriculum
With Inspired Learning In Mind
Learning Days implements the Creative Curriculum.
The creative curriculum is a child-centered, dynamic approach to teaching that moves beyond rote memorization and standardized testing, focusing instead on exploration, discovery, and self-directed learning. It integrates traditional academic subjects with real-world applications, encouraging students to think critically, solve problems, and express themselves through various mediums such as art, music, drama, and writing.
5 Key Components of Our Curriculum
1.Learner-Centeredness: Recognizes each student’s unique learning style, interests, and abilities, allowing for personalized learning paths.
2.Emphasis on Inquiry: Encourages students to ask questions, explore, and discover rather than passively receive information.
3.Integration of Subjects: Promotes interdisciplinary learning, helping students make connections across different areas of knowledge
4.Focus on the Learning Process: Values critical thinking, reflection, and problem-solving over mere outcomes
5.Respect for Diversity: Celebrates cultural, linguistic, and individual differences, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Moreover, our curriculum activities are also based on an on-going classroom observation process of the children and Georgia Early Learning Standards. Furthermore, each child’s developmental progress is documented and discussed with parents in the form of an annual parent-teacher conference, weekly progress reports, daily toddler reports, and quarterly developmental checklist along with a developmental portfolio.
Georgia Early Learning Standards
In our school, we implement Georgia Early Learning Standards, also known as GELDS. The purpose of the GELDS is to promote quality learning experiences for children and address the question. The standards are written as a continuum of skills, behaviors, and concepts that children develop throughout this time of life. They are divided into age groups for convenience and serve as a framework for learning. The GELDS take the place of the Georgia Early Learning Standards (GELS) for birth to three and the Pre-K Content Standards, creating a seamless system of standards in Georgia for birth to five. The GELDS are aligned with the Head Start Child Outcomes Framework, the CCGPS for K-12, the Work Sampling System Assessment.
Bible Based Activities
Our school has a biblical foundation, and we offer daily prayer in our classrooms and read a bible verse daily At Circle time. We also pray before each meal is served.
Theme Based Daily Activities
To enhance the learning experience in our school, each month we have new curriculum topics and a new curriculum theme. Themes spark excitement and fun in learning!
